Mike Battaglia 

Mike Battaglia is particularly known for his extensive incorporation of microtonality into his music, and in studying and drawing inspiration from musical traditions worldwide. Mike made his imprint as a pianist in the New York City jazz community as part of Grammy-winning saxophonist Tivon Pennicott’s Sound Quartet ensemble, whose performances often led to marathon jam sessions going into the early morning hours at Smalls, Fat Cat, Zinc Bar, Cleo’s and other local venues. Mike’s unique approach to blending these sounds into a cohesive whole has made his music an innovative bridge between traditional and avant-garde soundscapes, leading to his endorsement as a featured artist by Lumatone Keyboard.
