Kristina Lenzi
Salt Lake City, UT
painter / performance artist
Kristina Lenzi is a painter and performance artist living in Salt Lake City. Her art creates an ongoing dialogue between painted images and live actions often calling on collaborative efforts from the audience. Lenzi earned a BFA from the University of Utah and an MFA from Tufts University in affiliation with the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. In recent works, she has examined themes such as post-traumatic stress disorder and the struggles between individualism and conformity. To explore this content, she often employs mundane material such as wrapping paper, ketchup and eggs. In Lenzi’s work, these everyday objects are not transformed so much as they are used to metaphorically convey the commonality of the issues at hand. Lenzi has presented her work in festivals and exhibitions in cities across the U.S. and has recently acquired an international reputation with a performance in Warsaw, Poland.
