Janet Kenney is a playwright. In spring 2005, to much acclaim, Kenney managed her first foray into producing her own work, My Heart & My Flesh, which was co-produced with Coyote Theatre in Boston. Also in 2005 she was in Atlanta for a bare-bones production of Globus Hystericus which was co-produced by the Out-Of-Hand Theater. She is a recipient of the Perishable Theatre Women’s Playwriting Festival Award, the Provincetown Theatre Company Award, the Edward Albee Theatre Conference Panelist’s Choice Award and was named Finalist at two O’Neill Playwright’s Conferences. Several of her short plays have been performed nationwide and published, including Ma in Her Kerchief.
