Visual artist
Beth Reitmeyer, Bowling Green, Kentucky and Nashville, Tennessee, is a visual artist who likes to make people happy with her colorful installations. Her work investigates landscapes and the joy of unexpected yet beautiful spaces and places that are discovered as one explores the land and structures within it: clouds, rivers, caves, geodes, stars. Space/place are crucial: how do our bodies within spaces define who we are? Comprised of rich, luscious, inviting materials, such as fabric, glitter, and twinkle lights, these environments invite viewers to explore and get to know one another in a deeper, more profound way, providing space for renewal and perseverance. Reitmeyer’s work has been exhibited at the Frist Art Museum, Nashville, TN; The Elizabeth Foundation, New York, NY; ChaShaMa Foundation, New York, NY; UConn Avery Point, CT; OZ Arts, Nashville, TN; and 1708 Gallery/Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Richmond, VA; Reitmeyer has been an artist-in-residence at The Studios at MASS MoCA, North Adams, MA; The Golden Foundation, New Berlin, NY; and ChaNorth, Pine Plains, NY.
