Amina S. McIntyre
Atlanta, Georgia
Playwright / Producer

Amina S. McIntyre is a Black urban Southern playwright, producer, and practical theologian who centers on imagination and communal healing. Her plays, produced at theatres such as Out of Hand, Vanguard Repertory Theatre, and Atlanta Black Theatre Festival, find ways families can have difficult conversations around social justice and relationship issues threatening to break them apart. Amina is also passionate about making the craft of playwriting accessible and equitable by co-teaching free classes with Essential Theater and co-founding the Hush Harbor Lab, which makes opportunities for Black playwrights and artists in Atlanta to create new stories using the new play development process.
